You Just Can’t Stop Running

running

Running out for so long

Sometime, I wish for a break

But there is no slowing down

Or even a pause sign ahead

Those running with me

Are all after something

Or may be many things

May be I’m after something too

But what is it

I still don’t know

But I can’t stop

This is all I know

Cuz slowing or stopping

Is next to death

In this fast-paced race

And once you expire

You vanish away

Without leaving behind

Any sign of your existence

Reblogged this on Blog of Hammad Rais and commented:

Because of last night’s late return home from a wedding event, I slept up late. Though I woke up on time in morning but somehow made myself late in leaving home for work.

Hence, I had to run a little to catch my bus, which was waiting for me at the stop, thankfully. That little running made me realized, after I sat in the bus and collected up broken breaths, that I can’t really run in real life also.

Despite being good at walking long distances, I can’t cover the same distance through running. Which is a definite sign for me that I’m now transitioning into not-that-young-lad-anymore era of my life.

And which is also reminding me today about this piece I wrote back in 2017 about running without any breaks.

    Read it out!

Don’t forget to pause sometimes to reflect, adjust your dreams if necessary and go forward refreshed again 😉
Oh and I do believe we all leave a mark at this earth. You don’t have to be an VIP or something like that to do so. Just create a beautiful peaceful space where you live and all those spaces together, will make a better place of the whole world.

Patty, thank you so very much for this big encouragement. The real motive behind this poem is what I’m seeing and hearing at my workplace these days, typical corporate world issues, which is bit disturbing.
So, I wrote this to ease up my mind. Your words certainly are big reliever!

I’ve worked into the corporate world myself for many years and I can understand it can be frustrating at times. But I experienced at every workplace there are some negative issues to deal with, well, because we work with humans 😉
So hang in there, try to change things and if that isn’t possible, start looking for a job that better suits you as a person. Good luck, dear Hammad!

I liked the poem. I use to jog and it gives you a feeling of escape, but you have to careful for unexpected things. I’ve seen your blog and I must say that I like it. Would love your feedback on a few of my stories . my heavy hitters are Lardy Arms…Queen Kong and I…rutjob…Miss Scarlet and Blue Jasmine. Your opinion matters to me and I really hope to see you there soon. Could be the beginning of something greater my friend

      Hey Gastradamus!
Thanks for stopping by at my blog, reading this post and commenting on it. To be honest with you, this poem isn’t about jogging (sorry for hurting your feelings). It is about the norms of the corporate world and what I’m seeing at my workplace these days.
I have checked up your blog and you certainly are someone to follow. Hope to see you around 🙂
