Tomorrow, Eid celebrations will take place in Pakistan. Muslims in many countries are celebrating Eid today because of a day’s difference in lunar sighting (Islamic calendar follows lunar cycle).
But before one could dive into the celebration pool, a very tragic news shocked the whole country in early hours of today.
An oil tanker explosion claimed over 150 lives near Bahawalpur, Punjab. According to news reports, one of tanker’s tire blew off on the road and it overturned because of all the load it was carrying. The sad part is that when villagers of the nearby villages found out about the incident, they rushed towards the scene in large quantity to collect the spilling oil from the tanker.
Those poor souls completely ignore all the safety precautions and started to collect the oil, to make some extra cash. But then suddenly, a huge explosion occurred.
I can’t explain it you what happened next. Pictures of the aftermath are circulating here on social media but I’m not sharing them here. This is indeed very sad and devastating as one just simply can’t even imagine about such incident taking place.
But this happened today for real.
There is no denying to the fact that one will depart from this world, may it be today or tomorrow or many years later. But incidents like these make me feel like as if one can also walk towards his or her own death, regardless of whether they know about it or not.
