Standing out from the crowd is good.
But doing so while standing right next to your kind may not be consider as a wise move.
Sadly, goose #2 did that and I’m wondering how he (or she) was treated by rest of the gang, after I left.

Now that’s a trailblazing duck. I think there’s always one in a flock of ducks – I remember one who swam on ahead of the others, forming a V with his paddling, leaving the rest, beffuddled, on the banks of the lake.

Yes, you are right. And I also think that one always try to be different from rest of the gang in almost all feathery creatures.
