Fun Foto Challenge – Rainbow

I want to see more!

But sadly, I haven’t. Would you believe me if I tell you that I have seen rainbow for real only once in my life?

Hard to swallow this one but it is true!

Back in June 2010, Cyclone Phet hit Karachi which caused severe rainfall city hadn’t seen in many years. Continuous showering lasted for about 2-3 days and many parts of the city got flooded up with more than half of the city left without power.

June 6th was the day when intensity of Cyclone Phet finally weakened up. My mother spotted a rainbow in the sky and I ran towards the rooftop with my camera to capture it. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen!

The arc wasn’t clear on the top but both bottoms were powerful enough to mesmerize the whole city. It was seen by many in the city as everyone admired this amazing beauty of nature.

Sadly, I didn’t saw any more rainbows like this again.

This is my entry for Cee Neuner’s Fun Foto Challenge – Rain or Rainbow

Sometimes we take things for granted and I hadn’t realised that not everyone is blessed with rainbows. May you see many more Hammad and great big smiling penny moons and lightning that turns night into day! Nature can be so wonderful.

oh how sad, I’ve seen so many I could not guess or count … saw a huge beautiful one two days ago when I was walking the dog by the river and didn’t have my camera with me. They abound in my country!

      Wow!
I’m hoping for monsoon showers this year too and if they arrive, I will look out for rainbow.

Monsoon on that side is pretty heavier than the rest of the sub continent. Causes damage on big scale.
