They served their purpose!
Before being torn apart to reveal the encapsulated fruit they were protecting, these hard shells performed their duty in grandeur manner.
And now, as their prized possession is sliding down the digestive line of some hungry individuals, they await for their apparent demise.
Which is something they don’t even know about!
