A Door Opened

All those stories

Varied so differently

But they all had

A similar ending

The door is cursed

One should stay away

As far as one can

Don’t even dare to

Think about what lies

Behind that wooden evil

Despite all such warnings

My heart wasn’t so sure

So, one bright sunny day

I decided to dare up

And yes, you are right

Wasn’t so pumped up

To dare up in the night

So, taking one step at a time

I lower the distance

Between myself and qualm

Heart kept on pounding

Mind flooded with thoughts

A lifetime of secrecy

Was about to divulge

The rusted lock

Warned me for the last time

But I didn’t turned back

A little push on that old door

I braced myself for evil unknown

The creaks weren’t so loud

The decades old stench

Welcomed me inside

Upon leveling up my senses

I was unable to see

Cursed myself in heart

For daring this far without a light

Before inhaling my next breath

A deep voice echoed:

“One better carry the light within”

“Before daring upon the dark side”
