A day I spent at my home
In the name of those
Who are strangers
In their own land
So far away
From where I live
I breathe the freedom
While they are caged
Inside their homes
For so damn long
I can’t stop wondering
About what they think
Of me and others like me
Who enjoy a day
At their homes
With their loved ones
While they are still
Suffering and bleeding
Inside their own homes

Powerful words, Hammad. Thanks for joining in.

I agree with you!
The people of Kashmir should decide their own fate, not those who are in power across the borders.

it survived just nicely when it was left alone, the armies need to clear out and leave them to get on with their life … lockdown for that length of time is inhumane!
The UN should step in and ban both sides!

This region is actively engaged in political/militarized conflicts since late 1940’s, ever since both Pakistan and India were partitioned in 1947.
Three major wars between Pakistan and India (1965, 1971, 1999) flamed the situation to the next level.
Even in early 2019, both countries, armed with nuclear weapons of epic proportions, came very close to yet another war!

Pakistan is ready to walk away but not before India allows Kashmiri people to decide their own fate.
