Here’s a trip down the memory lane, accompanied by a poem!
The prompt for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge by John Steiner is Going Back.
Being staying in home for more than a month now and having very limited access to the world outside, because of on-going pandemic around the world, the norms to which we accustomed throughout our lives feels like a set of dreams we saw.
So, I’m re-sharing a poem I wrote back in 2016 and accompanying them with snaps of my 2017 trip to Dubai. Many of these snaps I’ve shared previously on my blog here but looking back at them during this strange time, is making me feel whether that trip was a dream or for real.
Those who are far today
They step in memories often
Dreams may be incomplete
But they are supportive
Still today, ways are prevent
Your memories pulls me away
Those who have forgotten us
They are remembered
Distance of centuries is between
No matter how much loneliness is
Wherever you live
You are mine
I get to watch
Your and my ways
Don’t lose hope
Just remember this
Darkness will fall
And light will shine
Nice. I like those colored ‘mushrooms’! What is that?

Thanks for liking the snaps, John. Those colored mushrooms are actually giant Chinese lanterns in Dubai Garden Glow. They are really amazing and treat for the eyes.

Nice collection of images, but I especially like the composition of your final image. I saw it in much greater detail when I clicked on it to see it in your Flickr account. Thanks for sharing!
