Lens-Artists Challenge – Home Sweet Photo Walk

A little tour of my very world!

Since I’m taking rest at my home for the next couple of days, after my last week’s successful kidney stones removal surgery (click here to read about it), I can’t venture outdoors, or even much in my neighborhood, to capture some photo walk snaps for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge by Amy.

So, how about a little walk around my home instead, which is my very own world πŸ™‚

As you will step inside, take these stairs to reach the first floor, where I live.

Here’s another look at the handrails on the stairs.

As you’ve reached the terrace, chairs are already placed for you to sit and relax.

The entire floor in my home is mosaic based, which was laid back in the early 80’s. Every room features a different design.

While moving inside the lounge area through the small corridor, you can notice the narrow walls up above.

Also in the corridor, there’s a long railing, on which a clothesline is attached. Since there’s plenty of sunshine in this part of my home during the day, so this area is perfect for laundry drying.

Long, thick pieces of wood are attached on top of these railings. They are definitely older than me.

When you will enter the lounge room, you will see dining table. This is because the lounge area also serves as a dining room. All rooms are linked to the lounge room, along with the kitchen.

And speaking of kitchen!

Now, how about we head towards the rooftop area?

As you climb the stairs towards the second floor, you will notice the simple linear design on the wall. The morning sunshine from late September till early January creates a lovely pattern of shadows on this wall.

The above lovely pattern of shadows is possible because of this cemented grill in front of my home.

Would you like to sit on the stairs?

I used to play on these stairs in my childhood. My son, Uzair, had also played on them.

These round stairs leads the way all the up to the rooftop area, from where I can view my town.

Thank you so much for joining me in this special photo walk of my home. I’m sure you’ve enjoyed it.

Many thanks to Amy for picking up an amazing theme for this week πŸ™‚

Wow. Excellent points of view. Very well done. I hope you recover well and soon. I’ve been that kidney stone route (two ERCPs and gall bladder removal, with a very upset pancreas in between). Not fun!

This was my very first time on the surgical table. I tried to cure it the illness with medicines but they didn’t worked well. So, went for this route quickly, which was a good thing. I hope that you are doing well now.
Thank you for liking my snaps, John πŸ™‚

Oh my Hammad, kidney stones are so painful. Glad you were able to have them removed. Thanks so much for joining us despite your surgery!

They are indeed very painful. One can’t even lay down straight on the bed during the pain, and I’ve gone through it twice within 3 months, so I had to take the ultimate step.

Thank you for this special photo walk of your beautiful home. The two images pattern of shadows and the shawdow of the stairway are my favorite.
Glad to hear your surgery went well. Hope you’ll recover soon. Take care.

Thank you so much for this prompt, Amy. Those shadows are back on the stairway now and I’m enjoying them once again.
The resting will continue for the some more days as my family is not letting me go back to my normal work from home routine that easily πŸ™‚
