A true story actually!
Once upon a fine November Saturday of 2019, I was tasked to clean up the backside storage section at home. Uzair excitedly helped me out in the cleaning as it was a fun father-son activity.
While cleaning the upper side wooden cabinets, I found this:
An abandoned sparrow nest right on top of the cabinets, which wasn’t noticed by anyone at home. We did noticed constant chirping during the daytime at the backside but didn’t paid much attention to it.
But upon seeing this nest made me realized that this was made by an unknown pair of sparrows, who took shelter in my home for breeding. Not much baby chirping sounds I heard in those days, so I didn’t paid attention towards it.
Uzair asked me quite a few questions when he saw this nest, which weren’t answered properly by me because of my very limited bird knowledge ๐
But we decided to place this nest at our local park because we felt a strange connection towards it.
Even for just a couple of days, this nest was a home for living beings, just like me and Uzair.
God knows how much time was spent to collect all those straws and then weaving it together to build a home.
This made me appreciate more about what my parents did for me by providing a roof above my head, where I can enjoy all the necessities of life, so that I don’t have to wander around to collect the straws myself.

Nests are always a treasure to find and a good science lesson too.

This one was certainly a treasure for both of us since we hadn’t seen one before earlier.
