A Spider’s Nightly Bright

Caught in the web!

While googling about why spiders weaves their webs at night, because that’s apparently the only time I’ve seen them doing it, I found out that this night weaving activity is specifically done by Orb-weaver spiders.

Before today, every spider I saw in my neighborhood’s garden was just a spider πŸ™‚

And these webs they weave are certainly a mesmerizing wonder of nature, which always reminds about how much we humans also loves to weave different webs of hopes and dreams.

Some of such webs remains intact while many don’t see a day’s light.

I’m so pleased you posted this. I have a doorbell video that picks up all movement and it recorded a night spider such as this. It looked like a ghost dancing around. Thank you for taking part Hammad, I enjoyed reading about the spider. πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for liking this, Sue. I once tried to capture the web weaving process on video one night but my smartphone battery didn’t lasted long. Better get my hands on a GoPro I guess πŸ™‚

Yes, there are 2 or 3 Ladies spinning these in our front garden, sometimes I walk into them. They make them so huge I once saw one spun across someone’s front gateway. I have a fondness for spiders even though I have been once bitten by this particular one-genus

For as long as a spiders aren’t big than my thumbnail and minding its own business, while allowing me to take a picture or two, I’m good with them πŸ˜€
