Sometimes

The state of my mind

Acts like an old fossil

Not so eager to accept

New realities or norms

Clasping on to

What I’m okay with

But this ain’t just right

In a rapidly changing world

Where yesterday’s happenings

Are shelved as distant past

Better to face today

With a fresh set of mind

For my own goodness
