Ready for the monsoon!
The very first spell of 2022 monsoon season is expected to make a landfall in Karachi this weekend and I’m both excited and worried about it.
Excited because this spell will certainly cool down the high temperatures, which is on a constant run in the above 35°C range for past two months. And I’m also looking forward to capture some more monsoon sky views from my roof top.
And I’m worried because moderate to high levels of showers will cause urban flooding scene yet once again in Karachi, with power disruption as well.
But at least, it would be some relief from the hot weather for the people.
And kids in my home are also excited for it, so seeing them having fun in the rain would certainly lift my spirits.
Let’s head over to the weekend as we all need some relaxation.
I did planned earlier this week to do some catching up on the previous episodes entries but alas, that didn’t happened. Hoping to do so this weekend though.
In the meanwhile, check out these amazing sky captures as shared by the fellow bloggers for episode #66:

Hi Hammad, What a gorgeous sky. It definitely has potential. A lot of our skies don’t leave a drop, and other times, it’s a downpour. Have a great week. 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by, Marsha. The predications didn’t went well as only light drizzling took place in most parts of the city but at least, it wiped out the heat.

Still waiting for the relief as the system got weakened before reaching my city. Some drizzling in some areas of Karachi but the heat sustained. Thank you very much for sharing your sky capture 🙂

We all seem to have grey skies just now. But the rain they bring is on the whole needed.

My expected showers didn’t took place, despite the predictions. Hoping to see some in the coming week.

Your post put me in mind of the first spring rains in the South African highveld. It is different – it’s at the end of winter and the rains are not needed to cool anything down but waiting for the first drops in September everybody is in an anticipatory mood. The atmosphere is almost electrical and once it starts raining the relief is tangible. Thanks for sharing! We’ve had warm to hot summer weather in the past few weeks, actually quite hot but certainly not unbearable and rain would now be welcome for the gardeners and farmers.

Spring rains sounds amazing. Quite common in the countryside of Pakistan they are but not for the urban areas.
As for my expected monsoon spell, it didn’t happened as the system got weak on Saturday. Kids are a bit sad in my home.
