Blogging Insights 3.0 #5 – My Gravatar

Is this coincidence?

I changed my gravatar (globally recognized avatar) this past Thursday and today, I found this prompt from Dr Tanya :

TODAY’S QUESTION: How important is your Gravatar to your blogging persona?

Before I started my blog, I used just one gravatar for Gmail, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Which was this:

The reason I chose this as my gravatar was because of The Lego Movie.

I checked the movie website and saw the section about creating your online minifig (Lego minifigure), so I made this on the website and started to use it.

I used this from February 2015 till June 2021.

Sometime in the summer of 2021, while playing video games on my phone, my son Uzair took this photo of me and showed it to me later.

I decided to use this as my gravatar then and edited it a little.

But last week, I decided to use a new week, so I headed to my rooftop, wore my sunglasses and captured this selfie:

This one is also an edited version of the real selfie but it is showing my face entirely.

So far, this gravatar is just for my blog.

And as for why I’ve suddenly decided to show my face to the world is of no particular reason.

I just felt that those who visit my blog and comment on my posts deserve to see my face.

Which is just about time in my 8 years of blogging 😀
