Daily Prompt – Me & Social Media

How do you use social media?

My simple answer: I don’t!

I don’t use social media anymore.

I’ve this blog for like 9+ years now and I’m more than happy with it.

I had a Facebook account many moons ago but I stopped using it because of what not.

Sure it may be a good way to stay in touch with family and friends but being an introvert, I don’t have much to share.

And even if I have something to share, then I spend quite a heavy chunk of time, thinking about the possibility of sharing it with the rest of world.

So why bother?

I also stopped using Twitter a few years ago as it was sucking out valuable time of my everyday life.

And I’ve seen pretty fair amount of trending trends and their impact on the real world.

I also have an Instagram account but no in use anymore because of the same reasons above.

So, if my blog on WordPress lies under the umbrella of social media, then I’m all good.

And even if it doesn’t, then I’m still hooked up to my blog because it is just so amazingly calm and peacefully serene here.

Don’t you agree?

Social media has been a game changer for both personal and professional growth. It allows me to connect with peers and stay on top of trends while sharing insights from my own experiences in marketing and entrepreneurship. Harnessing these platforms effectively amplifies our voices and broadens our reach, making it an indispensable tool in today’s digital landscape.

I’m not against social media. I understand the power it possess and positive changes brought by it in the world.
I, on a personal level, just don’t feel much attached to it.

Absolutely, to each their own. It’s great that you recognize the benefits of social media while also honoring your personal feelings towards it. It’s all about finding what works best for you.

I do agree Hammad. I too am gradually divesting myself of other social media outlet. They have become political and full of crazies who want a voice that means nothing.
My blog is my social media and is increasingly so. I have interactions with some people daily, others when it suits. These are my “blog family” not many but lovely people who care about all sorts of things but especially they care for their part of the world. This may be just their dwelling or suburb, town, city whatever, but they care.
Don’t see many negative posts or negative comments.
I count you, Hammad, as part of my blog family 😀

I quite FB some years ago and am not tempted to restart. I was on Instagram once for less than a week, then that was it. I blog. That’s it. Life is more calm and fulfilling that way.

I do agree. Sometimes I think about stopping my blog, though, for the amount of time and thought it takes to do it well. Then I just pull back. I’ve had to reduce which posts get emailed to me, though, as that can be overwhelming.
