WDYS #192 – Once Upon A Castle

When royalty was reigning

Far and wide

Borders had no meaning

The wealth and power

Bloomed at every corner

Whether one or an army

All those who stood against

Suffered more than just defeat

But one enemy lurked

Behind thick walls and doors

Without raising any eyebrow

Sneaking into hearts and souls

Poisoning them deep within

Turning brother against brother

And so one dark night

Swords kept on clashing

Until the last one stood tall

With wounds on the body

And also in the heart

The blood ran dry at last

And no one was left

To reign the next day
